How birth charts are read

A birth chart shows where every major planet was, from your point of view on Earth, at the moment you were born. It requires date, time and place.

Astrologers usually read in this order: the 'big three' (Sun, Moon, Rising), then Venus and Mars, then the outer planets, then aspects (angles between planets), and finally the twelve houses.

A chart is a language, not a verdict. The same placement can express itself in many ways depending on the whole context.
