The houses divide your chart into twelve life areas — from identity to career to secrets.
The twelve houses correspond loosely to twelve areas of life: self, money, communication, home, creativity, health, partnership, transformation, philosophy, career, community and inner life.
Which planets sit in which house is often more personally revealing than the sign the planet is in — because the houses locate energy in the parts of your life it actually shows up.
Different house systems (Placidus, Whole Sign, Equal House) split the sky differently. Most modern astrologers use Placidus or Whole Sign.
